ELECTIVES

Hi guys and today I'll be talking about the first few weeks of electives. Electives happens every year in term 2 and every other year in term 3. Electives is where students choose different activities to do every Friday. I chose sport as my elective.

In the first week we did volleyball which wasn't that fun to be honest. But the last two weeks were amazing. In the second week we played different team games like Capture The Flag, Kill the Cone and Doctors. They were all fun to play, The recent week of electives was last week and we did four corner sport. It was the best so far. In four corner sport there is four teams and four corners hence, four corner sport. Each person in the group is given a number. Number one is the shortest/youngest kid, depending on how the teams were made, and the numbers go up until the tallest/oldest kid has been counted.

The first few weeks have been fun and enjoyable. I haven't learnt much these past few weeks because well... it's sport there isn't really anything to be learnt. It was definitely what I was expecting, fun and BANTER. I can do my best in everything I do and listen so we have more time to play.

So that was the post for this week and I'll see you guys next time.

Castle Stuff

An Amazing Castle (That we didn't make)
Hi guys I'm back and today I'll be talking about the castle building I did last week. We were split into different groups and I was in a group with Liam, Fraser and Jesse. We built the castle 3D and the material we used was card. We worked together by halving the work in two where two people do one thing and the other two do another thing. We made decisions by talking to each other and asked each other what we could do the best to help with the castle. A problem we had was that we talked too much about something that didn't involve the castle building at all. We fixed this problem by having a moment and talked to each other to stop and get on with our work.

So that was the post for this week and I'll see you guys next week.

Cross Country

Hi guys I'm back and today I'll be talking about everyone's favorite...
Banter
Cross Country!!!
Technically some people don't like it (that includes myself) but I don't really mind running it.
The cross country is fun but it's very exhausting. I enjoyed the cross country and I was 3rd so I'll be running in the northern zone cross country. Which is weird because two years ago I was always eighth or ninth! My other compatriots to go to the northern zones are Liam who came first, James in second, Fraser in fourth and Haveesha in fifth.

I showed lots of perseverance because about 500 meters into the race, that's a quarter of the course, I wanted to quit. But I persevered and forced myself to not stop running and it got me third. Haveesha also showed perseverance because he was in front of me until just before the end but he got a stitch and persevered and he got fifth.

I saw many people show empathy because everyone supported and encouraged each other which was a nice thing to see.

So that was the post for this week and I'll see you guys next time.

Allegiant (This post is not sponsored :( )

Hi guys I'm back, after the holidays, and today I'll be talking about a movie I watched in the holidays. That movie is Allegiant. I've watched Divergent and Insurgent the two movies that came out before this final movie.

The plot of the movie is that Tris, a divergent, and her four accomplices are trying to run from their city of destroyed Chicago and find civilization outside the walls. They eventually found civilization but the people there are doing bad things and they try to erase the memory of everyone in Chicago. So they go back to try and save them. Sorry if I got anything wrong but overall it was an amazing movie.

One thing I liked about the movie were the fights in it. The fights are detailed to perfection and it looks like the fight is actually real! Another thing I liked was the whole plot for all three movies. They all worked together and flowed together nicely. The whole set of movies is a great series to watch.

I give this movie a 5 star rating.

So that was the post for this week and I'll see you guys next week.

HOLIDAYS!!!

Hi guys I'm back and today I'll be reflecting on this term. So I've achieved lots this term and one of those thing is a Merit badge. In year 7 and 8 you can earn three different levels of badges Credit, Merit and Excellence. The first level is Credit, then it's Merit and the top level is Excellence. I'm really proud of my Merit and I hope I can get my Excellence in the coming terms.

Another thing that was a highlight this term is dodge ball. This year I have a good team for dodge ball (not saying my team was bad last year) and we have won the cup (that is non existent) every time except two times we've lost it.

There was lots of other highlights I had this term but for now that was the post for this week and I'll see you guys next term.

Learning Stuff

Hi guys I'm back and today I'll be talking about three thing I've learnt so far this year. This first thing I already knew but I learned more about it. It was trust. At Hillary Outdoors what we learned most about the whole week was trust. Different activities helped me learn to trust people that I had never trusted before. The activity that helped with our trust the most was probably the high ropes because everyone had to be lay and if we didn't do it properly we would have probably died. Just Saying.

Cheezburger science
The second thing I learnt this year is how to separate sand and salt. I was in a group with Liam and Fraser for the experiment. What we did was that we put cold water into the cup where the sand and salt was then, we put it into a coffee strainer then we put all the water into another cup and we made salty water. Afterwards we put the salty water into a pan that was on a cooker and we evaporated the water into steam and the salt stayed in the pan as wet salt.

The third thing I learnt was that being a year 8 is harder than being a year 7 because you're expected to be role models and that teachers expect your work is amazing.

So that was the post for this week and I'll see you guys next time.bye peace goodbye farewell im out

5 day Easter Holiday

Hi guys I'm back and today I'll be talking my Easter weekend. Every Easter our  family is really busy because we run liturgies, go to masses and we also do the Visita Iglesia. Visita Iglesia is a tradition usually done on the evening of Holy Thursday, but we did it early on Good Friday. We did it with our prayer group and went around seven churches. We did two stations, from the stations of the cross, in each church then afterwords we went to St Thomas Moore church in Wilton for the Veneration of the Cross.

On Saturday we stayed at home because it was Black Saturday and just did homework and watched TV. On Easter Sunday we went to mass and we went to church early because we were choir. After the mass we went to a friends house to have lunch then went to a meeting in another house before coming back home. On Monday I played on my tablet and we also went to watch Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. On Tuesday I played with my friends and went to a movie fundraiser. The movie was Kung Fu Panda 3. In the whole Easter weekend the time that I made someone feel good  was probably when our family bought a new desk and we had to set it up and it took us a long time but we did it. We were all happy and proud of what we had achieved.

So that was the post for this week and I'll see you guys next time.
