Hi I'm back and today I 'll be talking the amazing turtle Michelangelo. He is the funny one out of all four of the turtles...

Wait we're supposed to write about an artist?

Well it's good that all the Ninja turtles are named after artists.

I'm back, sorry for the misunderstanding, and today I'll be talking about the artist Michelangelo.


Michelangelo was born on March 6 1475 in Italy and is an Italian sculptor and painter. He had friends who were painters as well like Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Donato Bramante.

One of his great work is the Sistine Chapel. He did this in 1477 till 1480. The Sistine Chapel is the large papal chapel in the Vatican. The Pope at this time was Pope Julius II. The Sistine Chapel was asked to be made by Pope Sixtus IV. This was made on the whole ceiling of the chapel.

This is called the Last Judgement and it was also made in the Sistine Chapel but it was painted on the altar wall.  This took from 1536 to 1541. It is for the depiction of the Second coming of Christ.



 

Michelangelo was a great painter and sculptor. I didn't really like the sculptures he made (mostly because they were inappropriate) so that's why I didn't show them. So that ends another blog post and so I'll see you guys next time.
