EPIC Values

Empathy Perseverance Integrity Creativity
I have showed empathy when at my birthday party Henry hit his head hard on the table in my house and we helped him to a seat so he can relax. For me the easiest value is creativity because I am creative whenever I do work and creative when I play sport. The hardest value is Perseverance because whenever I feel like persevering I feel like I'm going to fail so I give up.

Glory Gardens League Of Champions

"Azzie plays the sweep shot to a well-pitched up ball just outside leg stump" This is a quote from the book I've been reading Glory Gardens League Of Champions. It is about Glory Garden ( a cricket team in England) competing in a tournament of all the U13 teams that won their league. The captain is Hooker and the vice captain is Marty. And the rest of the team is Cal, Matthew, Azzie, Tylan, Jacky, Erica, Mack, Clive, Frankie and Ohbert. I like because it teaches me more of the rules of cricket and how to play shots. I would recommend it to all cricket fans.

By the way the first book is called Glory Gardens Glory in the Cup.

Galapagos Island

The Galapagos Islands
I have learnt a lot of amazing things in this topic but some of the interesting are all the amazing animals living on the island and how they evolved through millions of years is cool. What I'd like to learn about is other animals that have evolved after a long time and some animals that took only minutes to evolve if there are any. A Social Studies topic I'd like to learn about is geography.

Sports Monitor

Being a Sports Monitor is awesome from helping other kids to training them for sport tournaments. I have been helping other kids by getting them sports equipment for them and helping the year 5's for their cricket tournament. I've enjoyed so much being a sports monitor but the best thing is probably helping people to train for their sports tournament. I've learned if you don't close the P.E shed it gets very messy in there. One thing I found challenging was trying to put the P.E trolley back in the P.E shed because it's hard to manoeuvre the trolley in the narrow path to the P.E shed.

ASB (Auckland Saving Bank)

The Get Wise program from ASB came to our class today. And the whole hour was interesting but at the same time hilarious. It teached us about how to make, save and how different types of work gives you different amounts of money. Like if you worked as a lawyer since it takes about 6-8 years in University to get this degree it is a important job so this job earns the highest income. Another one he talked about is an executive director. And for this job it only takes 3-4 years in University so this job has a medium income. The last job is being a cashier and since you don't need any qualifications this job has the lowest income. The lesson was awesome so it was definitely worthwhile. My financial goal is to save up till I get old enough so then I can spend my money on important stuff. I don't use my money that much so I'm not really sure if I'm good at it.

Mission Fair

Charity

On Friday we had the Mission Fair to raise money for the Cyclone Pam victims in Vanuatu. Ollie, Liam, Harry, Josh, Henry (Sadly he wasn't actually there) and I ran a Pillow Fighting stall. We did pretty good we raised $59.60 but we could have probably done better. What went well was that a lot of people just wanted to have fun attacking their friends with the pillows. Some things that didn't go well was that some times we had long queues but a fight had already started so they had to wait for a bit for their fight. Another thing that didn't really go well was that in the middle of the Mission Fair we had no customers for about five minutes! But overall the mission fair was always and always will be awesome so it was still great to be in.

Anzac Day

Lest We Forget
World War One was supposed to be the war that ends all wars but everyone knows that that wasn't true because of the 2nd World War. Some things I have learnt about the World War was that a lot of the people in the World War wanted to see the world and they thought it was a great opportunity to see the world. Another thing I have learnt is that New Zealand and Australia landed in the wrong place because I thought they did land in the right place but they were unlucky and that they got ambushed. I didn't go to any ANZAC events in the weekend but I did watch The Avengers. I do think it is important for you to go to these events but my mum and dad doesn't know a lot about ANZAC Day so we don't usually go to these events.
